Homolulu Berlin, the LGBTIQ* bicycle city tour guides you through Berlin on the topic “Berlin invents homosexuality – queer history from 1850-1935”. The tour takes you by bike to historical places and tells about how the queer movement started in the 19th century in Berlin. Queer history is presented like the world’s first public outing, the world’s first gay activist group, the world’s first sexological institute and we dive into the wild nightlife of the gay and lesbian bars of the Golden 20ies in Schöneberg.
We start at Neue Wache, Unter den Linden 4, the tour takes about 3 hours, ending in Schöneberg at Motzstrasse. Please bring a bike or scooter. Bikes can be rented for 9€ a day by app (callabike “starter”). We bike slowly, no hills.
No fee for participation, but tips are welcome.
