Multireligious worship to Gay Pride on Friday, 22nd of July, St. Mary’s Church Berlin

On the eve of this year’s CSD, the multi-faith service was again held in St. Mary’s Church. Within the framework of this, clergy and believers from Judaism, Christianity and Islam came together. The sermon was delivered by Gero Dimter, vice president of the SPK, and Superintendent Bertold Höcker conducted the service.

International guests included: Lutheran pastor Kazimierz Strzelec from Lublin, Poland; UCC reverends Micah Bucey, Ann Kansfield, Jennifer Aull, and Vanessa M. Brown from New York; activists from Accra, Ghana; and many more.

Among other things, the victims of the homophobic attack in a queer nightclub on June 25, 2022 in Oslo were commemorated. In addition, the persecution and discrimination of queer people was addressed.
