As the first signatory, the Berliner CSD e. V. is supporting the \u201cW\u00e4hl Liebe\u201d campaign of the nationwide CSD movement in the run-up to the Bundestag elections. The association wants to raise awareness among (non-)voters for the rights of the queer community and encourage them to vote for democratic parties that stand for diversity, tolerance and equality in the election on February 23, 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a queer community in Berlin, we want to send a clear signal for a positive future with our campaign. Many queer people in our city are totally insecure because the tone against us is getting harsher. However, the rights for queer people do not take anything away from anyone. Quite the opposite: we are certain that cohesion, love and protection of minorities make us strong as a city.\u201d

Every voter in our city can take a clear stand for love, respect and freedom and support the queer community here locally. We can show that hate and division will never win and that we stand together in Berlin. Especially in times when far-right parties and political movements are trying to stir up hatred and intolerance, it is crucial to send a strong signal for democracy and human rights.<\/p>\n
\u201cLiberal democracy is not just an abstract concept, for us it means being able to live in dignity and freedom. However, minorities are always dependent on the solidarity of the majority population. Despite all understanding for current problems, they must be viewed in a differentiated manner and solved calmly. Some political forces rely on supposedly simple solutions and promote prejudice against minorities. We are opposing this and showing that we stand together.\u201d

The Berliner CSD e. V. is calling on the future German government to finally include queer people in the constitution, provide financial security for queer projects and better protect the community from hate crime and hate speech! The Berliner CSD will also campaign for this in Berlin as part of a nationwide day of action on February 15, 2025. At 11:55 a.m. – i.e. \u201c5 to 12\u201d – we want to campaign loudly and confidently for the interests of the queer community in the future federal government at a winter CSD under the motto \u201cVote for love – while you still can\u201d and call for a vote.<\/p>\n
We will start at the Bundestag, from there we will march across Potsdamer Platz and L\u00fctzowplatz to the Nollendorf neighborhood. We call on all Berliners to pack warm clothes, thermos flasks, colorful signs and a good mood on February 15, 2025 and join us at the Winter CSD to demonstrate for a free, fair and colorful future in Berlin, Germany and the whole world!<\/p>\n
We will also be communicating all information about the campaign and our actions via our social media channels on Instagram (@waehl_liebe<\/a> and @csd.berlin.pride<\/a>) and on the nationwide campaign website www.waehl-liebe.de<\/a>.
