Comprehensive update on tomorrow’s CSD: weather, security plan & opening speech

One day before the CSD Berlin demonstration, there is a comprehensive update on the opening speech, the security concept, and the weather.

📢 OPENING SPEECH
The 47th CSD Berlin | Berlin Pride will be opened on July 26, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. by the board of Berlin CSD e. V. and two Vice Presidents of the Bundestag: Josephine Ortleb (SPD) and Omid Nouripour (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). Former Bundestag Vice President Petra Pau (DIE LINKE) will also be present – a strong sign of democratic solidarity in a time of growing uncertainty for queer people. Cansel Kiziltepe, Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Equality, Integration, Diversity, and Anti-Discrimination, will deliver another greeting. The opening speech will traditionally take place ON the association truck with the starting number one.

🦺 SECURITY CONCEPT
The Berliner police are responsible for the safety of the Berliner CSD. We are in regular and trusting exchange with the police. The Berlin police conduct monitoring that includes current threats, registered counter-demonstrations, and even unregistered calls against us, e.g., on social media. We trust that the Berlin police will protect our CSD comprehensively. For this purpose, 1,000 additional officers are deployed.

In addition, Berlin CSD e. V. employs several hundred of its own security personnel to protect vehicles, infrastructure, technology, and stage setups, ensuring a smooth course of the demonstration.

A further 280 personnel from the medical partner ASB are on duty for the health protection of participants.

The organizer recommends traveling on foot, by bicycle, or public transportation. Please keep in mind that public transport stations in the immediate vicinity of the demonstration route and the closing rally could close early due to overcrowding. Current information is available from S-Bahn and BVG. The police have announced that they will better monitor the stations around CSD this year to contribute to increased safety.

Berlin CSD e. V. distances itself from racism, antisemitism, Muslimphobia, and other forms of inhumane attitudes.

There is no general ban on (national) flags. However, we ask all participants to focus on queer themes and rainbow flags. Symbols or slogans that are hostile to the constitution, inhumane, or otherwise discriminatory are explicitly prohibited. We will report such instances immediately to the police and ask all participants to do the same. The police will be available at any time during the demonstration.

🌞 WEATHER FORECAST
We are pleased that the German Weather Service (DWD) is providing “CSD Weather” forecasts for all CSDs in Germany the day before the event this year. These will be shared at 8:00, 14:00, and 20:00 via the DWD’s social media channels.

As organizers, Berlin CSD e. V. has a direct line to the German Weather Service. ☀️ The weather forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, is as follows:

Partly cloudy, some bright intervals, only a slight chance of showers. Temperatures rising to 24 to 26 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate west to northwest winds. During the night into Sunday, initially partly cloudy, later cloudy, and largely dry. Low temperatures between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius. Light winds.

We recommend dressing appropriately for the weather and staying well hydrated—especially during high temperatures. Please note that glass bottles are not allowed during the demonstration and closing rally. For safety reasons, we also ask you to refrain from bringing umbrellas with metal tips to the closing rally.
