The past few days have occupied us like few other times during our involvement with Berlin CSD. Not just because of the debate surrounding the participation of Möbel Höffner, but because the situation has once again made us realize just how enormous the expectations placed on Berlin CSD have become. We are long past being merely a demonstration; Berlin CSD has become a focal point for societal conflicts. We are expected to find the right answer to virtually every political and social issue.
Why is Deutsche Bank involved as a democracy partner of Berlin CSD?
Once again this year, Pfizer is supporting Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin—specifically by sponsoring accessible viewing platforms for wheelchair users at Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate. After all, inclusion often begins with practical matters: the question of whether people can actually see and experience an event well. This is precisely where we aim to make a difference, helping to ensure that as many people as possible can actively join in the CSD celebrations—regardless of physical abilities.
Pride is more than a moment or a month. It is a commitment to visibility, belonging, and creating spaces where people can thrive as their authentic selves all year round. That is the idea behind this year’s global Pride@SAP theme: “Pride. Always Shining.”

How visible is the queer community in the media? Around 11 percent of people living in Germany are queer. But this reality is not fully reflected in the media – as evidenced by several studies by the Lesbian and Gay Association of Germany, among others.
