Rainbow flag at Ibn Rushd-Goethe mosque
The Ibn Rushd-Goethe Mosque in Berlin was the first mosque in Germany to raise a rainbow flag today, July 1, in the run-up to Friday prayers, and it will fly in front of the mosque until the end of July. Mosque founder Seyran Ateş explained, “Especially for LGBTIQ* people of the Muslim faith, such a sign is enormously important, because it shows that they don’t have to choose between their faith and their sexual identity, but are accepted as they are.”

Colorful together – for more diversity
On Wednesday, the charity concert “#GEMEINSAMBUNT” took place at the Komödie am Ku’damm. Based on an idea by Sebastian Stipp and together with Anne von Knoblauch, who are both contact persons of the Berlin police for lesbians, gays, bisexuals as well as trans- and intersex people (LSBTI), and Olivia Schaaf, the project got rolling in 2019.
Official Pride Month Berlin Opening
Let’s celebrate Pride Month Berlin with an opening ceremony with Queens Against Borders and CSD Berlin | Berlin Pride. These talented artists from a variety of social, linguistic, national and artistic backgrounds have taken over the space and provided a platform to inspire the city of Berlin and present their own narratives and stories in a political yet creative and artistic format ranging from dance to drag to all-queer excellence.
