Since 2007, the ARTE Summer Cinema at the Kulturforum has been offering open-air movie screenings on balmy summer evenings. Between the Philharmonie and the Neue Nationalgalerie, a giant screen glows, showing the highlights of the past movie season. The Potsdamer Platz skyline lights up in the distance, and a multitude of lounge chairs stand invitingly ready – not a dream, but real open-air movie bliss right here and now.

In honor of Pride Month, we present PILLION, a sensitive DomCom full of humor and emotional depth, which won the Best Screenplay Award in the “Un Certain Regard” section at the Cannes Film Festival – starring Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling.

When shy Colin meets Ray in a bar, he’s instantly smitten. He can hardly believe that the attractive biker has chosen him, of all people, to be his new companion. Ray demands absolute submission, which Colin is only too happy to grant. He cleans, cooks, does the shopping, and sleeps on the bedside rug. In return, Ray opens the door to a whole new world for him. But slowly, a quiet longing awakens within him for something that Ray may never be able to give him.
