Description

Since 2007, the ARTE Summer Cinema at the Kulturforum has been offering open-air movie screenings on balmy summer evenings. Between the Philharmonie and the Neue Nationalgalerie, a giant screen glows, showing the highlights of the past movie season. The Potsdamer Platz skyline lights up in the distance, and a multitude of lounge chairs stand invitingly ready – not a dream, but real open-air movie bliss right here and now.

In honor of Pride Month, we are screening the tender drama THE HISTORY OF SOUND , starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor.

In 1917, Lionel, a reserved and talented music student, leaves rural Kentucky for the East Coast, where he meets his charming and confident fellow student David at the Boston Conservatory. The two grow closer through their deep love of traditional folk music. Their passionate love story and the music they collect and preserve will forever shape the course of Lionel’s life.
